Trim a 2" strip from the edge of a raffia table skirt and hot-glue along the outer edge.Next, hot-glue the outer ring of a 41/2"-inch Mason jar lid inside the raffia, securing it to the sisal circle. Hot-glue a metal bottle cap at the center of the ring and encircle with dried pumpkin seeds. Hot-glue a red wood bead inside bottle cap. Repeat for second eye. For the wings, cut two 8"H x 5"W teardrop-shaped pieces from the doormat. For the beak, cut a 3" triangle from the mat; cover with dried pumpkin seeds. Attach the beak, then the eyes and wings, with hot-glue.

Birch Bark Leaf Wreath Fall Front Door Decor

Birch bark is the key to these autumn "leaves."

Make the wreath : You'll need twenty-four 6 3/4"W x 20 1/2"L sheets of birch bark, a 20-inch-diameter foam wreath form, and 45 small wooden cubes to act as risers. First, print and cut out our oak- and maple-leaf templates. Trace 75 assorted leaves onto the birch-bark sheets, and cut out. Varying the leaf type, hot-glue 30 leaves onto the wreath form. Then, hot-glue a wooden cube onto the back of each remaining leaf. Using our photo as a guide, hot-glue the cube-backed leaves atop the original leaves.

Hot-glue a few layers of dyed corn husks around a 12" foam wreath form to create a sunburst shape. Attach a loop of wire to the back with hot glue and use to hang.

Make the wreath: Draw a 3-inch-wide maple leaf shape on a piece of cardboard and cut out to create a stencil. Trace on original pages (or, preferred, photocopied pages) of a vintage book—consider a fall-themed title or mystery novel—and cut out approximately 100 leaves with decorative scissors that have a "torn paper" edge. Attach book page leaves to maple leaves with hot glue. Attach layered leaves to a 16-inch wreath form with hot glue, layering and overlapping them as you go. Hang with burlap ribbon.

Make the garland: Cut a piece of ½-inch jute rope to your desired length (add a few extra inches to get the drapey effect at the top) and attach corn husks and silks with a hot-glue gun. (You can also use tamale wrappers.)

Make the wreath: Start with a flat-wire 18-inch frame. Hot-glue corn husks (roughly 18) and corncobs (roughly 9) in an alternating pattern. Fray the ends of the corn husks to add dimension.
